Pink Gypsy Designs is an eclectic mix of style and mediums.  From copper to gemstones to beautiful vintage textiles all are the result of a very creative and restless mind.

Carin is a self-taught artist.  Growing up in an artistic household, her father was a musician and her mother a designer in the movie business.  Early on she was encouraged to create and sketch dresses and jewelry designs and later to help choose materials and sew. 

Her creative passion was awakened in the 1980's with the popularity of beading.  She quickly developed a unique signature style and became a successful jewelry maker.  After a long hiatus where for several years she traveled ancient roads throughout Europe and Asia, she has returned with her designs and creations inspired by her years of wanderings. 

Copper Art. 
Inspired by Moorish architecture where ancient doors and gates hide the entryway to hidden courtyards dense with flowers and ferns, cooled and watered by fountains, floors tiled with the most glorious designs and colors.  Hung on these doors and gates were beautiful signs that reflected the name of the house, address or simply a "welcome" greeting.  These signs were made from copper and became Carin's inspiration for her copper bags or pockets.  Hang these beautiful bags anywhere indoors or out.  Fill them with fresh or dried flowers, stationary, your most precious items or even your favorite cooking utensils, or simply hang them and allow their beauty to compliment any décor.

Gypsy Purses
Piles of textiles collected throughout the years from antique shops to flea markets, found in every city and village throughout Europe,  are combined with Carin's love of belly dancing and all things vintage and bohemian come together in her exquisite Gypsy purses.  Made to compliment a woman's body movement by allowing the gorgeous purse to lay seductively against the thigh, the fringe gently swaying with every step taken. 

Each purse is a piece of art, made from lush vintage textiles and embellishments,   not one purse is ever duplicated.  These purses are guaranteed to bring attention.

Jewelry
Who can resist the sparkle, the joy that a piece of jewelry brings?  The simple act of putting on a pair of earrings that dangle just right can change ones mood!  Its an ancient love, this love for jewelry. 

Semi-precious gemstones, silver from Thailand, charms collected throughout the years, glass beads made by Carin are all incorporated into her distinctive designs. 

Scarves
Play an integral part in the dress of European and Asian women.  They can be plain as day or seductive as night.  Long and flowing with fringe and or beads, soft sumptuous velvets and silks to colors as brilliant as the sun, sultry as a tropical night.

The use of scarves is a secret language among these gorgeous women and a delight to behold.  Carin took her cue from the French and Spanish women, who used them during the day to cover the hair, or shoulders, or solely to enhance a outfit and then into the night when it was wrapped differently around the waist or hips or draped dramatically from front to back, the beading and fringe hanging just so. 

Again the influence of the bohemian and vintage comes into play by the different use of textiles, fringe and beads.  These are timeless, but be sure you enjoy attention because you will be the center of it with one of these beauties.  All are one of a kind.
